- Can you refund me for an MP3 purchase?
Due to the nature of digital media, we cannot verify that you did not download your MP3, so there are no refunds of MP3 purchases. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- How can I help get your show on the air locally?
Thank you for your interest! Please contact your local program director of your public radio station and ask as many of your friends to contact the station as well.
Our show is distributed free to PRX member stations, which includes most stations. If you are a member of the station, mention our show Humankind when you send in your membership renewal.
- How do I download an MP3?
Once you have placed all items into your cart, click on the cart icon in the top right-hand corner of this window. Once you have provided payment information, the files will be made available to you.
Click on the links provided and a prompt will appear ask for approval to download each file. Be sure to save files, rather than simply opening them. Saving the files will make them available to you in the future.
- How do I play the MP3s I have downloaded?
Once you’ve saved an MP3 to your computer, you can click on the file to open your computer’s default audio player (for a list of audio players, click here). It will then be available in that application’s library in perpituity.
If you want to import many MP3s at once, open your audio player and navigate the menu to the import option. Then, navigate your file explorer to where the MP3s are saved (probably in your ‘Downloads’ folder) highlight all the shows you wish to import and click ‘Open’.

- What is the theme music for Humankind?
We get many inquiries regarding our popular theme song. It is part of a private media production library and, unfortunately, is not available for sale to the general public. We certainly enjoy listening to it each time we assemble a program and are glad you enjoy it too.
- Why does the MP3 take so long to download?
Due to the length of each segment (~30 minutes) and our desire to provide you quality audio, our MP3 files can be large. However, if your download is taking an extended period of time, it may be due to your Internet connection.
Check your Internet speed (click here). If you are getting download speeds slower than 5 Mbps (Megabits per second), then call your Internet provider to resolve the issue.
- Why won’t the show excerpt play when I click it?
